Can you believe that we’re in the middle of 2010? Seasons change and time passes but with the Lord on our side, each new day brings new hope.
The Lakewood church of Christ family is a diverse group of folks from all over east Harris County and some from Chambers county too! A group of people started meeting for worship in the Lakewood area back in 1954, when this was a brand new neighborhood. The neighborhood is not new anymore and it has changed over the years but the spirit of the people and their desire to worship, to serve, to grow, and praise God is still just as enthusiastic as it was at the beginning. God continues to lead us and give us everything we need for life and godliness. Come and see.

Back to the Basics in 2010
Early in January we presented our goals for this year. We make it our goal to:
Be Closer to Our Lord - through worship, increasing prayerfulness, and doing our best to listen to and look for God’s leading
Communicate Better - with each other by any means possible, elderspeak sessions, visitation, electronic mean, website, email, FB, etc.
Encourage, Grow, & Teach One Another - through more fellowship, increased participation, hiring a Youth Minister and more…
Serve at Every Opportunity - by adding deacons, increasing our effectiveness in all service areas.
A more detailed list of how we plan to accomplish our goals, with God’s leading, will be available in the church foyer.
Our Deacon selection process is progressing. Nominations have closed, the candidates have filled out personal information forms for the congregation to review, and the final names will soon be presented.
